Lake Logan is home to species like, muskie, northern pike, bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish and saugeye. When you visit Lake Logan, there is much more than fishing. This, is a wonderful place to take the whole family. It offers a 400-acre lake for boating as well as prime hiking, fishing, and hunting opportunities.

Lake Logan is nestled in lush greenery and is picture worthy for sure. This lake is a popular fishing destination in Hocking Hills. It’s around 400-acres of water with a variety of fish species, including bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish. Hooks come in all shapes and sizes and they all have a different use. They also get caught up on everything. Even the best “snagless” hooks get caught. I recommend when starting out the get a kit with different sizes so you have the option for pan fishing or big game fishing, and have backups when you loose one. Try out this kit by Eagle Claw, it’s inexpensive and great quality.

4. Fishing Lures and Bait: Hocking Hills offers a range of fishing opportunities, so having a selection of lures and bait is important. Carry a variety of artificial lures such as crankbaits, soft plastics, and spinnerbaits. Additionally, consider bringing live bait such as worms or minnows, depending on the type of fish you’re targeting.

There is no end to the bait that you can purchase for fishing So find what works for you and what you’re fishing for. And keep on fishing.

5. Fishing Pliers and Scissors: A pair of fishing pliers with a built-in line cutter is essential for removing hooks, crimping split shot weights, and cutting fishing line. Additionally, a pair of sharp scissors will come in handy for trimming excess line and cutting bait.

Get yourself a nice pair of needle nose pliers and some sharp scissors, you’ll thank me later.

6. Fishing Tackle Box: Keep all your fishing gear organized and easily accessible with a tackle box. Choose a tackle box with multiple compartments to store your hooks, lures, weights, and other small accessories.

Every angler needs a tackle box. I have found that this one from Plano is convenient to use and they don’t list it but it holds my 180lbs rather nicely. Umm… I don’t recommend sitting on your tackle box. They are prone to breaking, and usually contain sharp objects.

8. Fishing Hat and Sunglasses: Protect yourself from the elements with a comfortable fishing hat that provides shade and shields your eyes from the sun. Polarized sunglasses are also a must-have item, as they reduce glare and help you see beneath the water’s surface.

Every pair of sunglasses fit differently. So find a pair of glasses that you like best, but make sure the lenses are polarized like these. These polarized Triacetate lenses block 100 percent of UVA and UVB rays, eliminate glare, are hard coated for scratch resistance, and allow you see beneath the surface of the water.

9. Fishing Tackle Bag or Backpack: A fishing tackle bag or backpack is a convenient way to carry and transport all your fishing gear. Look for a bag with multiple compartments, pockets, and adjustable straps for added comfort and organization.
